One day I decided to quit...
I quit my job, my relationship, my spirituality... I wanted to quit my life.
I went to the woods to have one last talk with God.
'God', I asked, 'Can you give me one good reason not to quit?'
His answer surprised me...
'Look around', He said. 'Do you see the fern and the bamboo?'
'Yes', I replied.
'When I planted the fern and the bamboo seeds, I t ook very good care of them.
I gave them light.
I gave them water.
The fern quickly grew from the earth.
Its brilliant green covered the floor.
Yet nothing came from the bamboo seed. But I did not quit on the bamboo.
In the second year the Fern grew more vibrant and plentiful.
And again, nothing came from the bamboo seed. But I did not quit on the bamboo. He said.
'In year three there was still nothing from the bamboo seed.
But I would not quit.
In year four, again, there was nothing from the bamboo seed. I would
not quit.' He said.
'Then in the fifth year a tiny sprout emerged from the earth. Compared
to the fern it was seemingly small and insignificant...But just 6
months later the bamboo rose to over 100 feet tall.
It had spent the five years growing roots. Those roots made it strong and gave it what it needed to survive.
I would not give any of my creations a challenge it could not handle.'
He asked me. 'Did you know, my child, that all this time you have been struggling, you have actually been growing roots'.
'I would not quit on the bamboo.
I will never quit on you.'
'Don't compare yourself to others.'
He said.
'The bamboo had a different Purpose than the fern.
Yet they both make the forest beautiful.'
'Your time will come', God said to me.
'You will rise high'
'How high should I rise?'
I asked.
'How high will the bamboo rise?' He asked in return.
'As high as it can?' I questioned.
'Yes.' He said, 'Give me glory by rising as high as you can.'
I left the forest and brought back this story.
I hope these words can help you see that God will never give up on you.
Never, Never, Never Give up.
For the Prayer is not an option but an opportunity.
Don't tell the Lord how big the problem is,
tell the problem how Great the Lord is!

这就是 Samsung i908「Omnia」。Samsung i908 是这场锁定 iPhone 的全触控竞争中，新加入的成员，全触控、TouchWiz 接口、WM 6.1 系统、GPS，规格几乎是最高等配置，很显然地，2008 年这场触控战争，已经不只是 HTC 和 Apple 之间的事情了，i908 也是主角之一。

熟知西方哲学史的胖友应该知道著名的奥卡姆剪刀理论。说是大约几百年前，一位的英国奥卡姆的基督教士，因其博学而被称为“驳不倒的博士”，又因其名叫威廉，被称为“奥卡姆的威廉”。他写过大量著作，但其享有盛名的却就是“奥卡姆剪刀论”，理论的要点用一句话来表述，那就是他著名的格言：“如无必要，勿增实体。”因为他对当时无休止的关于空洞抽象概念的争吵感到厌倦，认为凡是无用的废话和累赘，应当根据他的格言一律被无情地“剔除”。人们将他的这一似乎偏激的思维方式称之为“奥卡姆剪刀”。
   奥卡姆剪刀论又称“思维经济原则”，这种思维方式只承认确实存在的东西，对那些空洞无物的无用的累赘，应当被无情地“剔除”，即所谓“如无必要，勿增实体”。这一定律在企业管理中被深化为“简单与复杂定律”，即指在思考和处理问题时，要把握事情的实质、主流，抓住最根本的问题。不要人为地把事情复杂化。因为把事情变复杂很简单，而把事情变简单却不容易。
Palm在系统设计上、在软件应用上都充分体现了奥卡姆剪刀定律思维方式，收到了良好的效果。当初我拿到TREO650的时候，十分惊诧于系统的简洁，一个几十K软件其功能就非常了得，说实在话到现在为止，以我在PC机上的知识范畴，我还是无法理解Palm是如何做到体积小，功能强的系统和软件。
同时， Palm在自带的软件取舍也遵循了奥卡姆剪刀定律思维方式，表现出简单、够用、有效的基本原则。对于这一点，坛上DX多有评论，在下不再赘言，但对每个人来说“简单、够用、有效”都是相对的。这就引申出下面的想法。
随着Palm的发展和胖友队伍的壮大，Palm系统会不断增添新的软件，其各类应用越来越广泛，各项功能越来越完备。而这些软件，有些是有益的，有些却是无益的，我们原本要用这些软件提高工作效率，但实际上却适得其反。我们的时间是有限的，     我们不能沉湎于各种软件的试用，从而浪费光阴。本人有段时间花了很多功夫对比使用各种Getting Things Done之类的软件，最终的却是光磨柴刀不砍柴，落了个Getting Nothings Done的后果，想必此类现象在胖友也比比皆是，我说出来也不怕笑话。我们应该勇敢地拿起奥卡姆剪刀，甄别、剔除那些实际上可有可无甚至是有害无益的东西。如果不这样，我们将会被自己选用的这些日益增多、不断更新的软件浪费自己的美好的青春。
